I agreed that Hagrid wasn't a very good teacher. You don't have to
repeat it to me.

I don't really think he's worse than some of the others though (not
that I think that's an excuse.) Look at Lockheart. Dumbledore
seemed to know he was totally in comptent but hired him because
nobody else wanted the job. Maybe it was the same thing with
Hagrid. After all, the last CoMC teacher wanted to retire "with his
remaining limbs." Plus, Binns is so boring that most of his
students can't stay awake in his class. They don't learn from his
lectures (except Hermione); they read the book.

I know there are many very copetent teachers at Hogwarts. Sprout,
McGonnagall ant Flitwick come to mind. I'm just saying Hagrid isn't
the only poor teacher or the worst. That honor goes to Lockheart, I
think.

Personally, I thought the Thestrals lesson was going rather well
until Unbridge showed up. Like we have both said, Hagrid doesn't do
well when challenged. Unfortunately a teacher is going to be
challenged.

What do you mean "keep hearing aboutstudents being injured in
Potions or Transfiguration - it's just CoMC and just CoMC when
Hagrid is in charge."?

There was one serious injury, when a student went out of his way to
disobey.

Besides, we've seen people spashed with potions and suffer the
effects on more than one occassion. Snape either gave them the
antidote or sent them to Madame Pomfrey. I don't have PoA at the
moment, but I think Hagrid sent Draco to Madame Pomfrey.

I don't see any indication that more studnts are injured in CoMC
than in Potions or basic flying courses.
