Where have I come up with this hair brained one? Excuse my psycosis but I
have to get this bit of tripe out.

I will only be using some of the sock mentionings in the books.

A sock, in it's earliest incarnation, is Harry looking for a pair in the
first book, and then in the second book Mrs. Weasley fusses over the state of his
socks.

Harry is much adrift in the first book until Hagrid gets to him, he is
looking for himself, and then in CoS Mrs.Weasley fusses of his socks, just as she
fusses over him.

Now, in the first Book Dumbledore says that when he looks in the mirror he
sees himself holding a thick pair of socks, but we now know from OoP that he was
seeing Harry, hale and healthy.

Now, we /all/ know about Dobby. Socks are his freedom.

Harry is freedom, He /Freed/ the Wizarding World from Voldemort. He /Freed/
the Philosopher's stone from the mirror. He /Freed/ Dobby with a sock. He
/Freed/ Petigew saving his life. He /Freed/ Voldemort from his disgusting
state. He /Freed/ the Prophesy. You see where I'm going.

And on a flimsier platform, another word for freedom is Liberation. And I'm
pretty sure everyone is aware of the Path to liberation therory promoted by
the some of the more inteligent people on the list.
