The lab idea is good. I spend a lot of time in the
chemistry labs at school and my hair gets limp and has
a shine (so does my skin until I wash it). It's quite
possible, but wasn't there an instance where we see
Snape as first period/class of the day? That would be
9am (I think) and that is a bit early to already have
been in the lab for a few hours.
