Mistake about owls (from the start)

Here is a mistake in the HP books that I've not seen on FLINT lists. 
JKR often mentions the whooshing of owls' wings, especially when mail 
is delivered at breakfast. However, owls' wings don't make a sound, 
as other birds' wings do. They are silent flyers. For more info, see:

I was once at a nature center where they had a preserved hawk wing 
and a preserved owl wing, and when you cut the hawk wing through the 
air, you could definitely hear a whoosh. With the owl wing, there was 
no noise at all. It was pretty neat.
