There is another Tonks thread that has been going for days, trying to
figure out how, per McGonagall, there can be no Auror selected from
Hogwarts for three years, yet Tonks is an Auror.
That was answered twice early in that thread. It take 3 years to
become and Auror, and Tonks has been an Auror for 1 years; 1 + 3 = 4.
Tonks was selected into the Auror's program 4 years ago. So, no
conflict with McGonagall's statement.
So how old is Tonk?
Graduates from Howarts at age 17, 3 years Auror training, and 1 year
on the job; (17+3+1=21). Conclusion; she is about 21 years old. A fair
assumption, is that Lupin is in the range of 35 to 37 years old.
I don't see love and marraige for Tonks and Remus, but I could see a
deep loving relationship between them; a loving friendship/relationship.
On another note, I did like someone's idea that Tonks becomes the next
DADA teacher. But I really really seriously really don't think Snape
would like that. Some oddball wet behind the ears kids given the job
over him. That would be going to far. I have been predicting that
Snape would either become DADA teacher, or he would start giving Harry
DADA lessons which would eventually lead to a modest reconciling
between them. But now after reading the 5th book, I'm not as strong on
that idea. Which is odd because, not that they've run out of DADA
teacher, it would seem that Snape is the only person who wants the
job, and is genuinely qualified to do it.
On another 'another note'; some people have said they were disapointed
with book 5. My response to that is, after reading book 5 how badly do
you want to read book 6. Did book 5 leave you desperate to know what
happens next? If so, then I would say the book succeeded
spectacularly. Personally, I'm on the verge of hysterics, I'm so
desperate to find out what happens next. I don't know how I'll survive
another year, or heaven forbid two, waiting for the book.
Just a few random thoughts.
