I don't see them as a couple, either. I see Remus as more uncle-ish
in his interactions with Tonks.

Oh, I'm sure Dumbledore will find some odd character hanging around a
dark alleyway off of Diagon Alley... But, speaking of Snape as DADA
teacher. We know that Dumbledore didn't want to give him that
position 14 years ago when he first started teaching at Hogwarts.
However, at this point, certainly one would think that exposure to
teaching about the Dark Arts would not send Snape into some sort of
DE regression. He certainly seems more capable that some of the
people who have taught this course. Why hasn't Dumbledore appointed
him DADA teacher over the last say three or four years? Is it
because Snape is really good at Potions, and finding a good Potions
teacher is even harder than finding a good DADA teacher? That
strikes me as a stretch...

Absolutely. Although there were things I disliked about OoP, I'm
hoping that those issues will be cleared up in the last two books.

If so, then I would say the book succeeded

Well, then heaven forfend we have to wait three years. If that
happens, call me and I'll send you ice packs and chamomile tea! ;-)
