Godric and Salazar...soul mates?

This is my theory of what will happen in later books, or at least
what we'll find out in later books. I have tweaked it from stuff
I've read on this forum, and combined others to get the desired
end. My husband really thinks I've got something here. What do you
think?

Fact:
Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor begin a school for
witchcraft and wizardry 1000 years ago, along with Rowena Ravenclaw
and Helga Hufflepuff. Salazar and Godric are best friends. They have
a falling out.

Theory:
Salazar must have begun studying and practicing the Dark Arts. He
begins muggle baiting and trying to do something bad to muggle-borns
and mudbloods. Godric Gryffindor attacks. They have an epic battle
which ends in both their deaths. They swear to continue the fight.
Their spirits go down the blood lines. Salazar Slytherin turns into
a ghost thing (a spirit, not dead, like Voldemort after Harry in
1981). He possesses Dark Wizards and gets them to do their will in
exchange for power. He perhaps goes through times where he is not in
a body.

Fact:
Tom Riddle opens the Chamber of Secrets in 1942/43. This is not his
seventh year (he is worried about the school closing down...he
wouldn't care that much probably if he was of age and didn't have to
go back to the orphanage. I could be wrong, was he head boy? Doesn't
really matter.) In 1945, Dumbledore vanquishes the Dark Lord
Grindelwald. Tom Riddle leaves school around this point to study the
Dark Arts and tries to become immortal.

Theory:
Grindelwald is in fact the rogue spirit of Salazar Slytherin, who
possessed Grindelwald, an already Dark Wizard. When Grindelwald is
vanquished by Dumbledore, he seeks out a willing Dark Wizard to
possess. Tom Riddle (by now Lord Voldemort) is a prime target. He
promises to teach V. the secret to "immortality" if he can possess
his body. Tom Riddle returns to the Wizarding world in 1970,
unrecognizable to those who knew him.

Fact:
Tom Riddle's diary is discovered by Ginny Weasley in 1992. She opens
the chamber of secrets. Harry has also discovered the diary and
meets Tom Riddle in his memory. He later believes Tom Riddle is
familiar...like an old friend. Harry Potter (of Godric Hollow, mind)
pulls the sword of Gryffindor out of the sorting hat to defeat the
basilisk. Dumbledore says "only a true Gryffindor could do that".

Theory:
Harry Potter is not only the direct descendent of Godric Gryffindor,
but also retains in himself a part of his spirit. This spirit is
what recognizes Tom Riddle as an old friend...he retains part of
Salazar Slytherin's spirit.

Fact:
The sorting hat says there were never better friends than Salazar
Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor. It also urges the houses to unify.
Dumbledore tells Harry of The Prophesy.

Theory:
This only intensifies the friendship theory. When the hat tells them
to unify, this could mean that Harry has both Slytherin and
Gryffindor blood and will unify the lines, I don't know how I feel
about that. Anyway, the prophesy says "neither shall live while the
other survives". This could mean a few things. "Neither" could mean
Tom and Harry, and "the other" could mean the spirits that are using
H. and T. to wage war against each other. It could also mean that
once Harry vanquishes V., the Godric Gryffindor's spirit will be at
rest and Harry can finally "live". Also, the prophesy says the one
who can vanquish the Dark Lord will be born to those who have thrice
defied him. This doesn't have to mean Lily and James. This could
mean that his line has defeated the spirit of Slytherin, manifested
in a dark lord, three times. To reach a bit, it could mean that
Dumbledore is related to Harry and also carries the Gryffindor
blood. Then it would mean that Godric Gryffindor defied him,
Dumbledore defied him (Grindelwald) and Harry's mom defied him. This
is a bit murky, but it occurred to me so I'll throw it out there.
