I think this is a great idea, and one that struck me on my first
reading of OOtP. I feel that Luna has a much more substantive role
to play in the next 2 books, and stepping into Cho's shoes gets my
thumbs up!

I remember reading somewhere a rumour that Sirius' daughter might
well turn up - refuted, I believe, as he is declared the last in the
line of Black's, but how about Luna as Lupin's daughter? A long
shot, granted, since her father is still alive (!) but her mother may
have had a torrid affair with Lupin resulting in Luna (get the clue
in the name) Thwarted in love (how can you BE with a werewolf long
term?) Luna's mother meets an untimely end. Harry and Luna unite,
her paternity is clarified, and Harry finally gets a living father
figure (providing Lupin survives book 7, which is highly doubtful as
I predict a showdown with Wormtail and other DE's)

Again, a long winded ramble
