Im not entirely convinced that JK will ever bring up homosexuality. 
The vampire thing is of course possible, but its not something I personally 
believe.
I think that James bullied him because he was an easy target, which was in 
the canon that James started on Snape for no reason.

One little theory I have come up with which is slightly off topic, I think 
Harry will one day soon address Snape as 'Snilvellus' out of anger.  There was 
emphasis on this nick name by Sirius in the present day (when Snape and Sirius 
had the row in the kitchen) by Lily in the memory (when Snape called her a 
mudblood), and James in the memory.

I think its a little name that will come up again, since neither James or 
Sirius are around to call him it again and I dont think its the end of it.
