I *HATE* Hagrid! (kinda long)

I think the students would be poorly served by a teacher who only
exposed them to cute and cuddly critters, and left them ignorant
of the more dangerous beasties of their world.

While I agree that a good teacher should expose students to the
dangerous beasts to teach them about what they might need to face,
the problem with Hagrid's exposure is that he does not always have
control over the beasts. While he is free to tame dangerous creatures
in his free time, it is reckless to expose students to animals he
can't control and doesn't understand (blast-ended skrewts).
And on a personal level, Hagrid puts the trio in danger (both
mentally and physically) by not keeping the adult-children separation
that he should. He should not cry to the children or tell them his
problems. They cannot handle that sort of responsibility --
especially in their first few years.
Hate is a pretty strong word, so I'll have to say I am not fond of
Hagrid.
Kneazelkid -- who hopes you don't think poorly of her for her opinion
on this popular character but stands her ground nonetheless
