A good point, but Petunia's astonishing recall of the word Azkaban
calls into question a great deal of things.
Remember, Sirius was James' best man, and while it is still very
likley, that Petunia did not attend their wedding, we have no reason
to believe Lily and Petunia's parents did not.
Petunia would have had ample opportunity to hear Sirius' name, during
the wedding plans, or been forced to listen to a dreary (for her)
recap of the wedding from a relative. Sirius Black is an unusual
name. She might have remembered who he was.
And she might have known EXACTLY what role he was believed to have
had in Lily and James' deaths.
If she did, that means she was covering in PoA when Sirius was on the
news.
