Slytherin divided

I have a theory, but no answers. Perhaps the snake represents Salazar
Slytherin, and his qualities are "divided" between Harry and
Voldemort. Perhaps Slytherin was looking down, from wherever he is,
behind the veil of death, sees the last of his bloodline, Tom Riddle
and what a dreadful human being resulted from the Slytherin way of
thinking. He is overcome with remorse, has a change of heart and sees
that love, integrity and compassion are the highest ideals after all
and heals the rift between himself and his three buddies, Hufflepuff,
Ravenclaw and Gryffindor.

Now he wants to heal the rift that exists in the world of the living,
the Hogwarts and wizarding world. He saw that Harry Potter, someone
with the qualities he now treasures, was about to be born, so he
gives Sibyll Trelawny the prophecy, allowing Voldemort to hear only
enough to make him want to attack Harry. This would cause Voldemort
to inadvertently pass on the good qualities of Slytherin to Harry,
kind of like grafting the last good branch of a diseased tree onto a
new root system.

Then he will have to find some way for Harry to vanquish Voldemort
for good, to erase the harm Slytherin has brought upon the world. But
Harry, not having it in him to murder, will have to find a way to
defeat him, using the stuff locked up in that room in the Department
of Mysteries. Poor old Tom Riddle is going to have to come to terms
with his delusions, and this will be the fate worse than death, that
Dumbledore has in mind for him. But Harry will not be able to
outright murder Voldemort to save his own skin, this is counter to
the whole love and compassion he possesses in such large quantities.
Perhaps Harry will find a way to enter his mind and do it that way...
