I do not have the books around but I noticed that evertime JK
describes Harry's presents she always mentions that Ron has a much
bigger pile. What is this supposed to mean? I have wondered about this
for a while now and if someone could clear this up for me it would be
great.
Me -
Well that's to be expected isn't it? After all Ron has six siblings, loving
parents, quite possibly a large extended family (or not) as well as Harry
and Hermione. Harry has no one except for Ron and Hermione, and of course
Molly gives him a jumper. He has Sirius and Remus too now (well just Remus
now darn it) - why wouldn't Ron have far more presents than Harry. In fact
in PS Harry is actually surprised that he has *any* presents (or is that
movie contamination?). It's also a nice contrast - Ron has this large family
who all give him presents and Harry has only a few presents even though
*financially* he's richer than Ron, Ron is and always has been far richer in
the things that really count.
