Peter:

"Many people have stated that JK does not give hints about future plot lines
in names but JKR has given many. Scabbers for one. And the second I
believe is Cornelius Fudge and Lucius Malfoy. St Cornelius
was a pope in the 1200's. Guess who he was replaced by? St. Lucius. This
seems unlikely becayse everyone now knows Lucius is a death eater, but maybe
the names foreshadow a plot twist!"

I've only said this like a billion times! :o) I did research on this, back
when I first heard about the historical connection here.

Pope Cornelius (who wasn't canonized a saint) was exiled and some say later
beheaded (basically because of his incompetency in deal with the Roman
Emperors) and was succeeded by Pope St. Lucius who was popular at first, but
was exiled himself (Azkaban anyone?), yet he came back to office.

I don't think it's really going to matter that people know Lucius is a DE.
Someone on this list has stated before that it's possible Fudge tries to get
his "good, old friend" Lucius out of Azkaban himself stating it was a
misunderstanding. Lucius is going to take the MOM by force (and kill Fudge)
and he'll declare himself Minister. The premises will be guarded by his
fellow Death Eaters and the newly recruited Dementors. Later in book seven,
Arthur Weasley will live up to his namesake and fight Lucius to the death
and later Arthur will become Minister.

Just my two cents. ;o)

Susan :o)
