Why JKR wrote OoP the way she did IMO

I went and checked the posts today after all, and found yours.

I'll go look for it. In the meantime, I suspect that she meant that she
doesn't have any real world agenda. She's not trying to teach people to vote
one way or another on any social issues, for example. However, she is
certainly trying to show the evil of racism, so why can't she be trying to
encourage a more moral outlook on other issues?

Analyzing fiction to death is what I enjoy most. I like to pick it apart and
see what makes it work when it works, and what makes it flop when it flops.
I enjoy the books more afterwards because I can see all the writerly tricks
while I'm reading. It's like people who love to go backstage at the theater
to see how the show's produced. They still love the show, maybe more than
before. And if they hate the show, they can at least enjoy analyzing it.

No, but some people are delighted when they finally find fiction that
enhances rather than detracts from the lessons they work so hard to teach
their kids. Besides, if the lessons are there and done well enough to be
enjoyable,so they can be enjoyed, too.
