Me, Del :

Er... Come on, you can't read HP and deny that she's teaching things
like "racism is no good", "the hunger for power is dangerous" and so
on ? I'm not saying she's writing the books with the sole intention of
teaching those things, but she does teach them anyway.

Hey ! Analyzing fiction to death is one of my great pleasures ! I
enjoy it thoroughly. Nobody's forcing you to read our posts, you can
just skip them, just like I skip those who don't appeal to me.

Oh ! So you've categorized books and other works of art, have you ?
There are the moral ones, the entertaining ones, the funny ones, the
tragic ones, etc... Huh ? Well I don't see things so clear-cut. To me,
a book (or a movie, a painting, whatever) can be (and most of the time
is) several things at the same time. And it so happens that HP, along
with many other books (ever read the Narnia series ?), is both
entertaining and moral.

And me :-) !! In fact, HP is *first* about entertainment to me. But I
don't see why I shouldn't discuss its other aspects (such as moral,
political, etc...) with other people who enjoy such discussions.

WOW ! You're being insulting here. I have all intentions to teach my
kids life lessons MYSELF ! I will NEVER EVER depend on anything/anyone
else, not even the Bible, to teach them that. But I WILL use all the
support I can get my hands on (including the Bible AND HP) to make
things easier for them to understand.

In conclusion, I'd repeat what I said earlier : if you don't like this
kind of threads, skip them. And should I start telling you that the
discussions you are enjoying are childish or whatever, please feel
free to tell me to get lost and let you enjoy your kind of fun.
