"Oh! What a beautiful morning!" croaked Kneasy, almost in tune. "Oh!
What a wonderful day!"
"Gottem! " He watched gleefully as the SILK SHIRTS sailed round and
round in ever decreasing circles, throwing off distress flares as shock
and uncertainty assailed their collective dogma.

"Oh my, I am enjoying this. Almost as much fun as the time I slipped
the LSD into DD's pumpkin juice before he had his little chat with
Harry about the prophecy. Yeah, that Lost Sense Draught certainly put
a lot of people on the wrong track."

"See, it doesn't do to take some of these passages at face value. It's
well known that transcribers of the canon can be cryptic and sometimes
they'll deliberately mislead you, if they think they can get away with
it. You've got to be on your toes, be suspicious, be *nasty*.
Otherwise, well, would you like to buy a copy of Book 6? It's the
volume where Sirius comes back as Fang."

He patted S.minor on the head, then wiped his hand on his coat to
remove the excess grease.

"Runs in the family, does it?" He gazed at the little lad, who badly
needed his nose wiped. "Not the only thing, is it?" He capered along
the beach, ignoring the aching bunions, made worse by his addiction
to '60s winklepickers.

"First confuse 'em, then go in for the kill. See, *none* of the
characters in those memories are identified. Not one. Sure, it was your
dad, his memories after all, but it's only Harry who thinks that all of
them are from childhood, and we certainly can't rely on Harry's
certainty - he's been wrong too often in the past. Especially when he's
been under pressure. Don't you think it means something that the
characters are definitely named when they come from the pensieve, but
not when taken directly from Snapey? Stands to reason, ask - why?" He
cackled loudly. "'Cos the first memory was your dad and mum and you,
that's why!"

He looked round. Kirstini was struggling through the sand, still badly
hampered by the dead weight of the tiny tot wrapped around her leg.

"Not far, now. Soon be able to relax aboard the FADED SCARF. We'll be
alright for a while. Take 'em a bit of time to rig up a new can(n)on.
The one they've got might not be too accurate, that's if it's not
firing blanks."
