Yes, I can buy that. Although maybe not bargaining in the sense
of "bring back Sirius and I'll...be nice to Snape, do all my homework
on time, stop snapping at my friends, or whatever, Harry is
feverishly trying to find a connection. The bargain is more a "Okay,
he can be dead, but give me a way to contact him."

Yes, there is tons more to write. But, I figure if OoP can be 800+
pages long, surely in the Book 6, there can be more than one or two
sentences that imply Harry's grief. I'm not saying that I expect or
want pages of Harry weeping and wailing and rending his garments, but
surely someone with JKR's powers can work in phrases or descriptions
that would clue us in to Harry's state of mind.
