When I said Slytherin shouldn't be the only house eliminated, I 
wasn't talking about keeping your enemies close.  I think the school 
needs (at least some of) the Slytherin students.  

The hat seemed to imply that Hogwarts was deminished when Salazar 
left.  It certainly implied that all the houses (including 
Slytherin) needed to work together.

Because I believe the hat's song to be very important, I believe 
Slytherin has something to offer.  There is no reason (that I can 
see) for the hat to say those thing unless it's a message/hint from 
J.K.R.


(Yes, I know I talk about the sorting hat too much.)
