This *is* a terrific post Terry. And, i don't think it _has_ to be
disgusting at all.
We haven't actually seen into the reproductive systems of Wizards
yet, in cannon and some questions naturally arise when Hagrid seems
not at all perturbed by the notion that a Giant male could couple
with a Human female. [ugh is that not death to us!?]
There must be something more to it.
Veela don't appear to be entirely solid and yet a cannon character is
the result of a Human/Veela mix. Surely there's something more to
that. Veela being the feminine entity of the two would be required to
carry the *part human* child internally if the kind of reproduction
we are talking about is entirely as we have it in the human race. It
does not seem at all possible.
While the cross reproduction exists, I am sure to some degree a cross
method_of_reproduction_ must also exist. So Fleur and Olympe -if her
parentage was indeed that way - can exist.
With a little wiggling (teehee) some other pairs can be proved to
exclude what we may find disgusting about this notion.
The Ferrets and the Malfoys, however, remains quite disturbing.
:p
