If you haven't read Order of the Phoenix, my comments may give you hints
that you don't want- so beware.

Otherwise, here are my speculations about what could happen in books 6 & 7.

Before reading Order of the Phoenix, I was anticipating that Dumbledore
would allow himself to die, for the purpose of freeing up the reliance of so
many on him so that they could learn to rely on themselves. Now, I realize
that I have grossly underestimated J.K. Rowling, and am once again
thoroughly impressed by what she can put into her books. Based on my own
observations and interpretations of the series so far, I believe:

Voldemort may receive intelligence that causes him to NOT want to kill
Harry, for the sake of keeping his own life. (Harry's blood is his life
force, after all.) The hate for him would be no less, though.

Harry will have to decide what his choice is about life and death, and he
will not wish to kill. Therefore, he will come to terms with death, and not
be afraid of it. (Luna's unconcern for material possessions will be a
helpful influence to this end, as will Harry's already-passed-on family).

Harry will give his life in the process of saving another (Snape, I think-
his least favorite ally) from dying at the hand of Voldemort, (such as by
purposefully getting in the way of the killing spell) and by his own death
Voldemort will die. However, I think it very possible that Harry would come
back to life, of his own accord (similar to the phoenix, due to his
conscious choice to give it), and be able to truly live after that time.
Descriptions of this part of his life _could_ make up a significant part of
the rest of the series, and would be quite interesting to see, though I tend
to think that the growth he must go through before this can happen will be
substantial enough on its own.

Anyway, such are my speculations. You never know, I may just be
underestimating her again. :-)

Thank you, JK!
