Quirrell to "Accio Stone," either... <<<<<

[good theory] - I read in the HP Lexicon an essay about Accio-ing, which
theorized that the Accio-er has to have at least a rough idea of the size,
look,
and most importantly, location of the object.
. In
Quirreldemort, situation, he was handicapped becase he had no idea where the
object was, much less what it looked like, how much it weighed, how large it
was, how it felt in his hand as he held it, etc.
Since the stone will only reveal
itself to those who do not wish to find it, Quirreldemort would never have
found it anyway, though Accio or any other summoning charm.
Me -
I'm not sure whether he knew what it looked like - he might well have done.
I mean I know it was the *only* thing invault you-know-which at the start of
the book but I hope he wasn't relying on the vault being otherswise empty or
Dumbledore could have filled it with assorted rocks of various sizes and
olours and he'd have been stuck becuase he wouldn't be able to steal all of
them and he wouldn't knw which he wanted.
And once it was in Harry's pocket he realised that and as such know it's
location too.
And I think that the spell which made it only reveal itself to someone who
didn't want to use it only worked while it was in the mirror. I got the
impression that once it was out of the mirror Dumbledore's enchantment was
null and void.
And back to what Darrin said at the very start - I don't agree that
offensive spells would have rebounded off of Harry. He couldn't physically
touch Harry because Harry ws marked by his mother's love and love is the
antithesis of what Voldemort is. I think his best plan of action would have
ben to hit Harry with a stunning spell once he realised where the stone was
and take it out of the boy's pockets once e was unconscious. Maybe Quirrell
was still trying to resist Voldemort's influence and stopped him trying to
magically hurt the boy, thus putting the two of them on a slightly more even
playing field and giving him a chance to survive?
