ok, let's look in the hogwarts records... hmm, 19th-20th century... 
T... U... V... Ve, Vi, Vo.... no "Voldemort, Lord" listed. How easily 
checked, again?

If Sirius _was_ in Slytherin, _THERE_ is your no-longer-mythical 
"Post-Riddle Good Slytherin". Kinda knocks out your downward spiral 
theory, doesn't it? and if Sirius was slytherin, so are James and Lupin 
(and Pettigrew, but that's neither here nor there), since why would 
they be such close friends if in different houses, especially if one of 
the houses in question is Slytherin?

Either hagrid is a liar or sirius is a post-riddle good slytherin... 
interesting dilemma you have for your theories, eh?

No longer believing a false absolute, he might just let the Hat choose 
for him, which would end up with him in, of course, Slytherin.

Regardless, what AD did was cruel. He should have awarded the points 
right away and never let the Slytherins think they'd won when they 
hadn't.
