Just because someone has seen a person die doesn't mean that a person
is good or bad. It is mere consequence of a series of situations that
lead the student to witness it. And he death didn't have to be
particularly brutal, someone could ahve just died peacefully with his
family around him.

I know plenty of GOOD people who have never seen anyone die and
have never been to a funeral. Well, why should they be judged for
being lucky enough not to lose anyone they cared about or watch
someone die within their general vicinity.

The thesterals apparently have an unplasent appearence. I'd say
the Slytherin's reaction was out of his disgust over the look of the
Thesteral not over any House attitude.
