Something major about Lily Evans?

I remember fandom speculations about Book Five from last year, and as 
I recall, JKR said in some interview, chat or whatever, that 
something major would be revealed about Lily Evans in OoP. I don't 
know about you, but I didn't really feel that Something Major applies 
to her standing up to her friends and protecting Snape? I think that 
that particular event said more about James, Black and Lupin than 
Lily...
Did I miss something, or what?
