Gryffindor team and she said Chaser. She neither confirmed nor denied
that he was in Gryffindor and has *never* given the house of any of the Marauders.

> We have no idea whether Hagrid knew that Riddle was Voldemort but
it does seem to be a very closely guarded secret. Plus Hagrid was
expelled over thirty years before James and Lily went to gryffindor
so that the fact that he was in the same house doesn't suggest at all
that he knew them at all.

of person who would spend time with the somewhat childlike
groundskeeper. <<<<<
Hello everybody, this is my first post here but I've been a member
for several months now.
Anyway, I just can't let this discussion about James' house not
mentioned in the book without giving my 2-cents. Because I think JKR
already mentioned it without really saying James' name.
In that scene where the trio were sitting near the lake immediately
after the last quidditch match and H/H were trying to tell Ron about
Grawp and Ron kept on telling them how the game went. Ron made a
gesture where he brushed his hair back with his hands and Harry had a
big smile on his face because it reminded him of another gryffindor
quiddith player. Which is obviously James.
I say obviously because in the "Snape's worst memory scene", it was
mentioned that James always brush his hair back to make it look like
that he just got off from flying on his broom.
I don't have my book so it's not exact description.
What do you guys think?
