Hagrid tells him in book one that he is capable of doing magic when
upset. Is this the same as the wand in the dementors scene in OoP-
because he began the scene so angry with Dudley is that their some
residual anger, plus his fear of the Dementors that makes it possible
for him to Accio his wand to his hand? Just an idea...

Your words just made something click in my head. Sorry if someone has
said this (I haven't seen it if you have). All of this, not just
blocking Voldemort from his mind, but all of it, will lead up to
mastering his emotions. Mastering his emotions, channeling his anger,
fear and hurt and being able to turn it into love and forgiveness,
will make Harry the most powerful wizard in the world, able to defeat
Voldemort. Think about how much magic Harry spewed forth even when he
was unaware of his powers. Now that he's learning how to use that
magic, he is more and more powerful. His next step is mastering all
his emotions in a very Zen-like fashion. This does seem to point to a
very Christ-like death scene though, wherein Harry sacrifics himself
to save humanity and defeat Voldemort.
kneazelkid -- who gets an ill feeling every time she thinks of Harry
dying but is becoming more certain that's how things will end
