I don't have a copy of PoA on hand, and I don't remember well enough 
to comment on it.

I don't think any of us are saying he should be complimented for not 
using Snivilus. (At least, I'm not)  

I'm just saying that I don't think he's being intentionally cruel.

I don't think anyone is excusing that.  I'm certainly not.  But I 
consider it a seperate issue from his use of Lupin's first name.
