Keep in mind that JKR specifically had Sirius tell Harry that he 
(Sirius) and James had used a pair of similar mirrors to get through 
detentions.  So, Harry's mirror is broken, but Sirius' was not.

Harry can inherit and use Sirius' mirror.  We can hope that James had 
his mirror on him when he died.  Then everyone can communicate back 
and forth.
