I read Kelly's post, (#71685), and she made an interesting comment
that many people have likened Neville to Pettigrew, and hinted that
as the less talented one, he too may sell out his friends for a bit
of power with Voldemort. She disagrees.
I do too. Vehemently. As much as I hope and pray that I am wrong
(I'm for a big happy family and I want everyone to survive, but I
really don't think it's gonna happen), if anyone is the next Peter
Pettigrew, it's Ron. Look at how jealous he is; he stops speaking to
Harry simply for entering a tournament. He doesn't believe Harry.
He's nice about the prefect bit, but honestly, we all know he's
thrilled: finally! to beat Harry. He obviously has little talent,
and is saved only by the fact that Harry truly and honestly loves him
(I'm not insinuating homosexuality, but remember, Ron is the thing
Harry would've missed most). Ron has been out of all of the major
fights since PS/SS (stuck with Lockhart in CoS, broken leg in PoA,
nobody was with Harry in GoF). He hasn't even come up with anything
useful. While I like Ron, and Harry obviously does too, I think that
must gall Ron, to be so out of it. Maybe if Voldemort promised him a
high place, above Harry's, to conquer him. Wouldn't that be a
switch, for Neville to become Harry's closest friend and Ron
Voldemort's staunchest supporter. I hope that this theory is wrong,
so please prove it to me, somebody, but it makes sense logically to
me.

Did you know that in the 3,500 years, only 230 have not seen major
war? Isn't that sad?
