>>> I have no idea if this topic has been already picked over a bunch, I
am sorry if it has but I have a question. After I had finished
reading OoP, I was speaking with a friend of mine regarding Sirius's
death. We realized that we disagreed on how Sirius died. I believe
that Sirius was killed due to the spell that came out of Bellatrix's
(sp) wand. My friend believes that he died because of passing
through the veil. Both my friend and I have many arguments that
would support both sides, but I was curious to see what other people
thought. Thanks for the help!<<<

Lady Macbeth:
This seems to be confusing a lot of people. I am 100% certain that
Bellatrix hit him with a stunner and that Remus determined he died because
he fell through the veil. I had understood the veil and doorway to be a
section of the veil between worlds, which is why it made sense to me that
Remus immediately accepted that he was dead, as well as why Sirius appeared
horrified a moment before he disappeared.

In essence, Bellatrix's spell would have done nothing more than slow him
down and/or leave him open for another curse if the veil hadn't been there.
