Lot's of Snape's strange behaviours, which could be seen as dangers
to the entire script of the book, make sense this way. Any takers on
my theory can run with this if they wish - Snape as something other
than a powerful wizard stuck at the mental age of 15. I'll do a few
later, at any rate.....The main question, though, if this is to take off, regards prophecy
in Rowling. What is it, how does it happen, and is the writing of
names of those concerned guarded against error (like kids getting
letters of acceptance to Hogwarts?). That is, is there any reason for
SS to oppose interpretation of the prophecy on grounds other than
what that interpretation is?"

I think this is a very interesting idea, and perhaps more than that. something is obviously different in Snape's view of the war. I have another question, by the way, which I think is related to the main plot. LV has already tried to kill Harry and failed, we all know of the "ancient magic" business. Obviously, LV's using Avada Kedavra on Harry again, in Gof and Oop, means he hopes/believes he can still do it, after all. But can he? I really wonder how JKR wants us to interpret this, and I cannot dismiss the problem. Does LV believe that the bond strenghtened by the means of Harry's blood, in Gof, has lifted the protection? Btw, if the bond is that significant, can't it work both ways? Can Harry actually kill LV (considering Bellatrix's words, in Oop, that one has to "mean" harm for the unforgiveables to work, means that Harry must grow quite a hatred, in order to succeed with Avada Kedavra)? I promise to think of the matter, and come up with something beside questions.

Still, I have two more related questions:

1. Do we have any guarantee that Dumbledore CAN use Avada Kedavra? (I'm not saying he WOULD have used it against LV in Oop, but maybe his good nature doesn't allow him to use it.)

2. How many members of the order actually know the exact words of the prophecy? Maybe Dumbledore kept it for himself. I am pretty certain that Snape doesn't know it for certain, nor did Sirius. I think JKR is putting a lot of stress on the fact that everybody defends Harry because they appreciate him, not strategically..

Sorry, was this impossibly long? I won't do it again,
