He is indeed cunning and wise, and one of my fave caracters, but
because he has spyes or cheats on the MoM doesn't mean he is not
politicaly correct (PC). He is PC because all he does is with the
purpose of good and against evil. If the MoM stands on his way of
creating world peace, then he will fight them, but I am sure you
agree that DD always tries his best to promote good, whichever his
means, and he is incredibly fair.

Me:
I think we understand politically correct in different ways (which is
cool). However, apart from that, I also think that we don't see DD
in the same way. I think DD is (and always has been) a bit of a rule
breaker. He dances to his own beat. Indeed, I think he uses the
rules only when they serve him (e.g., His defense of Harry at the MoM
at the beginning of OotP). This is not to say he is evil or bad, but
rather, not a "by the book" sort of fellow. DD is akin to Merlin and
Gandalf, both of whom were notoriously self-regulated. The term PC
does not fit DD, IMHO, but, once again, I am not sure we are thinking
of PC in the same way.

Simply put, I do not think DD has much confidence in the MoM nor do I
think he ever has. He forms his own groups, runs his own school, and
operates by his own rules. Remember, DD rejected the being MoM.

Nineve:
By the way, I never said that DD has best things to do than spy/watch
over Harry. What I said is that he has better ways to do it. Please
read message 71696 about this subject.

Me:
To clarify, when you stated "He is so above that" I took that to mean
he was above spying (or personally spying on Harry). I found that to
be an odd statement (1) given Harry's importance to the fate of the
wizarding world (which DD knows) and (2) given past instances when DD
has personally spyed on Harry (e.g., mirror of Erised scene from book
1).

If I am reading you correctly now, you are saying he has "better"
ways to spy on Harry. I would agree he has "other" ways to spy on
Harry. Whether they are better or not depend on what he is trying to
do. Personally, I think if DD is Hedwig he would probably be serving
as a protector as much as a spy.

It would make sense and/or be important for DD to be Hedwig because
he could:
(1) Secretly spend time with Harry during the summer without drawing
to much attention to his special treatment (which, as we have seen,
is a problem area at Hogwarts).
(2) Monitor Harry without seeming like he is smothering him.

Thanks for the post.
Oh, and by the way, does anyone found any actual examples in the book
where DD and Hedwig are seen together yet?
Or are there any other crazy Hedwig theories? Here are a few more:

Hedwig is Mad. Hooch. (she teaches flying, her name sound like "Hoot")
Hedwig is Mrs. Figg (names sound alike, she is always hanging around
Harry, and if she is a squib why is she one of the first ones DD
tells them to alert...what is she going to do, tell them about her
cats? Plus one of her cats is named Snowy or something and Hedwig is
a snow owl)
Personally, I still think there is something between Hedwig and DD,
but hey, what do I know
Have fun,
Jake
