You know, I never though of this before but it makes complete sense.
I'm not sure who the narrorator is in this series but JKR did say
that the book was written with the "view from Harry's glasses." So
even if the narrorator isn't Harry isn't written to be from his
perspective. I think that you are right in gaging that all of his
experiences and memories he will be able to trace back to his friends
because in the end "the famous Harry Potter" would be nothing without
his friends. He could of never survived getting through all the
obstacles in order to retrieve the Philosopher's stone.
Especially since the fourth book Ron and Hermione and all the others
have become huge assests to Harry. In GoF when Ron isn't talking to
him Harry finds great difficulty in concentrating on the summoning
charm while Ron is mad at him. I think that in these final two books
his friends, but particularly Ron and Hermione are going to be the
reason is able to get through these rough times and maybe even the
way he finds the strenght...or even the will to defeat Lord
Voldemort.
Sorry I got a bit off topic with the friends part but back to memoir.
I think that in book 7 when she announces the fate of all of the
characters it could be that Harry did indeed defeat Lord Voldemort
and went on to live a long and prosperous life in the Wizarding
world. We know that JKR said that she won't write about it because
she said there won't be any, "mid-life crisis Harry", however this
does make me wonder, though we know she is saying it due to the fact
that she isn't going to write that far ahead in his life or is she
saying ALSO that she isn't going to have Harry live that long. We
don't know. Basically I am saying that I agree with the memoir idea
and think, especially now that I think about it, that, that is indeed
the format of the books.
Tay :)
