Purrly here:
     I think that the flower theme is broader than the Black family. 
Yes, you've 
got Bellatrix, Andromeda, Narcissa, and Nymphadora.  However, you've
also 
got Lily, Petunia, Myrtle, Lavender, Pansy, and Fluer. I doubt
they're all related 
I don't know what, besides gender, ties all these characters together
in JKR's 
mind.  If anyone has any theories I'd love to here them.
     In the meantime, I think that the Black family theme is "stars
and 
constellations" as it fits all the females who were Blacks at birth -
Bellatrix, 
Andromeda, and Narcissa (sorry, I can't remember who pointed out that 
Bellatrix and Narcissa were heavenly bodies, no pun intended) - and
also 
includes their male cousins Sirius and Regulus.  JKR has just
continued her 
tendency of being brilliant by fitting the Black sisters into two
themes.
