I was a big Sirius fan, too, and I felt no emotion at ALL when he died. It 
didn't even hit me until nearly the end, around the time Harry started asking 
Nick to find him a loophole. By then the story was nearly over and the moment 
had passed. I was  especially distruaght by this lackluster death, because in 
the end of GoF, I was *sobbing* through the whole ending; when DD was telling 
the student body the real cause of Cedric's death, I was positively 
inconsolable. And I really had no emotional attachment to Cedric, it was simply the action 
of his death, and the reaction of DD and the students, that  effected me. The 
veil thing... I just didn't get it.

So you are not the only one!
