I'd like to think that's true.  However, if Narcissa's delightful 
sister is anything to go by, it might be that she (Narcissa) and 
Lucius have the perfect marriage.  Perhaps she has been brainwashed 
with the family credo that love is not an element in marriage, but 
breeding is everything. Perhaps she subscribes to an upper class 
morality that implies you can sexually get up to whatever you like 
outside of marriage but that marriage itself is a property and class 
issue. 

Alternatively, how do you know that marriage to a sadistic toerag 
isn't her "thing"?  Equally, who's to know that he's the sadistic one 
inside the marriage - maybe she is, and his behaviour to everyone 
else is his way of dealing with it.

Oh this speculation is getting way too nasty!
