I think memory charms usually last forever. If they didn't, they
wouldn't be very usueful for concealingthe WW from muggles.
GL memory charm was both botched and misdirected. It was supposed
to hit Ron and Harry. However, I don't thin it was supposed to
erase their moemories completely.
