ME - Iwonder if the 'Old Magic' is possibly wandless magic? So 
powerful and emotional you don't need to focus it through a wand?

ME - It surely depends on what knowledge you give people - Tom, 
having 'reincarnated' himself as Lord Voldemort - I wonder how many 
of his Slytherin mates were around for the deatheaters' BBQs? Tom 
does say he'd been using the name to his 'most intimate friends' - I 
wonder how many survived to tell of his beginnings? I suspect it's 
been his little secret. 
Another interesting thing in CoS is that Tom says, 'How did you 
escape with nothing but a scar...' 
Back to one of my hobbyhorses - the scar isn't the mark.
