Me:
Cho's personality did not bother me as much as it seems to have
bothered alot of other people on the list. I suppose that I was
happy to see that she had *any* personality at all, as she was so
vastly underdeveloped as a character in the previous books (nothing
but a "very pretty girl" with "long dark hair" surrounded by alot of
giggling girls). I actually felt that she showed a great deal of
initiative in seeking Harry out (I can still recall that it took
*alot* of nerve at age 16 to go up and talk to "a crush"--
particularly when he was surrounded by all his friends, as Harry was
on several occasions). I have to agree with Hermione's analysis of
Cho's emotional state and feel that Cho had a good reason to be weepy
(i.e. murder of previous boyfriend less than one year ago).
However, on Valentine's Day she revealed herself to be a "high-
maintenance woman" and way too emotionally complex for Harry at this
stage of the game. I vote for the Cho crush to be over. Harry needs
someone a bit more stable and reliable at this point in the series.
(cough *Hermione* cough). Elle
