One of weaknesses (IMO) in HP is the role of women and Narcissa fits 
this quite well.  We see no evidence that she is an active DE, but we 
see that she is a doting mother and appears to be a doting wife as 
well, or at least a somehwat submissive one, as she doesn't say a word 
at the QWC.  She takes a back seat to Lucius and seems to mostly allow 
him to raise their son - it is he who travels with Draco to Diagon 
Alley for shopping and he is the one who keeps showing up at Hogwarts.  
She is there, it seems, to support her husband and son in just about 
anything they do, and that is pretty dangerous.

Very true..it's a good point.  But I may add that Sirius states that one of the main things that made Bella and Narcissa good and Andromeda bad is that they married pureblood wizards of propers families.  And I wonder why Sirius did not have much horrible to say about his cousin?
