Prior to book 4 any of us may have considered Mrs Figg a Muggle.
Granted it may not be written in the boook in those precise words, but
we could have assumed as such. I stil think that it is possible for
people in the WW to make similar assumptions. If Lily grew up in a
seemingly Muggle house, for whatever reason, wouldn't there be wizards
that assume that she then was a "moodblood?" Basicly, who have we
heard refer to Lily as a moodblood or of Muggle Parentage.. or rather
who have we not heard say these things? (Dumbledore -- for one, I
don't recall him ever making mention of Lily having Muggle Parents. If
anyone knows otherwise, I'll gladly give up.) I've had the feeling
Petunia is a aquib for a long time, and I'm not reaady to give it up
yet, even if I can't completely explain the Moodblood refereces.
Besides, Lily may not know that she isn't, or is keeping other secrets
about her parents, that is easier to explain by allowing people to
think she is a Muggle born. I don't know, but I think there is a
"perception" thing at play here for some reason...
