Why so few Quidditich Matches?

I was wondering that also and my reasoning was that it may reflect 
how often professional Quidditch teams play. I think I remember 
reading in Quidditch Through the Ages, teams don't play that ofter 
due to finding places away from Muggles to play. I know Hogwarts 
shouldn't have that problem, but as far as I know prep teams always 
play fewer matches than pro.
