Marianne:
I'm sure the Dept. of Mysteries will be very important in the next
book(s). We spent way too much time there if that was to be our only
glimpses of the various rooms.
Kaesa (me):
I have to agree with this. Even in GoF, when there was one mention,
I thought we must find out more about the Department of Mysteries.
You don't call something the "Department of Mysteries" without
getting people curious.
Marianne:
As for Croaker, I forgot about him (her?). Maybe this is a more
obvious play on words. Croaker as in "one who croaks." Taking the
slangy verion of Croak, maybe this person is already dead (croaked.)
Kaesa:
I don't think he's dead yet - if he were, we probably would have
found out about it either via the _Daily Prophet_ or possibly
something like the first chapter of GoF, although I think this would
only happen if Voldemort himself was the murderer.
Marianne:
Or maybe Croaker is an assassin, as in one doing the croaking to
others. If that's the case, naming him Croaker would be a little
less obvious than calling him Snuffer.
Kaesa:
My theory was that Bode's croaking bodes Croaker's croaking, which is
a definite possibility even if Croaker isn't the one visiting Bode at
St. Mungo's - but I like Assassin!Croaker better than MineCanary!
Bode, simply because I don't want Unspeakables to be dropping like
flies - I want to know more about the Department of Mysteries, damnit!
~Kaesa, currently in mourning for Bode.
