I do not think Umbridge actually knew Snape was puposely
being "unhelpful". She was just angry she wasn't getting what she
wanted. I am confident Snape would be able to handle any questions
Malfoy had about the situation. Besides, the Veritaserum may take a
month... if not Snape could have made up an ineffective version (as
he did the first time) to use on HP and Umbridge would not have known
the difference. Snape and Lucius Malfoy have too much history for
him (Malfoy) to be swayed by this one incident. What I wondered was
how she could get away with using the cruciatus curse and not get
punished? If you kill someone using avada kedavra and no one is
around to witness it, would the MoM still know about it? Is there a
charm to "hide behind" to use magic covertly, without the MoM knowing?
Also, Does anyone have any thoughts on why Firenze would give up
his life in the Forbidden Forest to come and teach at the school, for
what Dumbledore MUST have know would be a short time? I mean, to
give up your community of family and freinds for a few months of
teaching? No matter how much Firenze thinks of Dumbledore this just
seemed foolish... unless there is more to come from Firenze... What
do you all think?
