As far as I've heard, the timeline for books 6 and 7 are the same as
it was for book 5. In other words, there is no timeline/pre-
determined release dates.
I saw Arthur Levine (VP of Scholastic, also Rowling's editor and
brought the Potter series to Scholastic) on Charlie Rose the night
before OotP came out, and he said that Rowling came up with the idea
of not having a deadline for book 5, since writing GoF was too
stressful with a strict deadline (Rowling offered to return her
advance since she didn't know when the book would be done--
Scholastic and Bloombury turned her down). Everything I've heard or
seen since OotP came out says that book 6 will be the same way. It
could be done in a year, it could be another three.
