Me
I concur with the above and add Dumbledore probably only uses Fawkes 
when it's absolutely necessary.  He has too much respect for all 
creatures, and certainly such a dignified pet as Fawkes, to 
misuse/abuse their powers.  Fawkes can lift many times his own 
weight, but it may put a bit of a strain on him.  Also, I got the 
impression DD's and Fawkes' escape in OoP was using Fawkes' magic, 
not DD's ability to disapparate.
