Me:
Sorry Tj, but do you *really* think that we need "Harry Potter and
the Baywatch Babes" as the last installment in the series (rolls her
eyes in exasperation--a la Hermione--at the lameness of the male
imagination).
I think that the bit about Harry hearing Hermione's voice as his
conscience is meant to indicate that Hermione is a steadying
influence on Harry. Her advice is almost always sensible and he does
tend to be rather hot-headed. To my mind, they compliment each
other. IMO, Ron (although he is a great guy) is not her equal in
sensitivity, insight, or intellect. I *do* agree that a R/H SHIP
would re-create the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. I guess it
comes down to whether or not you think that the Weasley marriage is a
good ideal. They *do* seem to care about each other, but all that
arguing and hen-pecking---UUUGGHH! Not very romantic, in my book! I
hope that Hermione is not reduced to becoming another Mrs. Weasley.
Just my opinion, of course. Elle
