Sorry Tj, but do you *really* think that we need "Harry Potter and 
the Baywatch Babes" as the last installment in the series (rolls her 
eyes in exasperation--a la Hermione--at the lameness of the male 
imagination).  
I think that the bit about Harry hearing Hermione's voice as his 
conscience is meant to indicate that Hermione is a steadying 
influence on Harry.  Her advice is almost always sensible and he does 
tend to be rather hot-headed.  To my mind, they compliment each 
other.  IMO, Ron (although he is a great guy) is not her equal in 
sensitivity, insight, or intellect.  I *do* agree that a R/H SHIP 
would re-create the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.  I guess it 
comes down to whether or not you think that the Weasley marriage is a 
good ideal.  They *do* seem to care about each other, but all that 
arguing and hen-pecking---UUUGGHH!  Not very romantic, in my book!  I 
hope that Hermione is not reduced to becoming another Mrs. Weasley.
