I agree. I think it would have been more of an issue if Draco hadn't 
responded as he did. After all, the actual insult was not to 
Narcissa, but to Draco ("...or because you were with her?", i.e., you 
stink). The moment the words 'your mother' leave one boy's lips, his 
opponent is honor bound to retaliate before the rest of the phrase 
(insult or mere observation) is spoken.  In fact, this incident gives 
me hope for FinallyGrowsASetOfGonads!Draco aiding the order by 
betraying his father just out of sheer meanness. I'm a proponent of 
Abused!Draco only because it would give him a motive to be 
interesting, but pointless nastiness works for me, too.
