I dunno.  At the private school I attended, we saw our teachers' 
families all the time.  Their kids were our classmates, our parents 
were sometimes their friends, and so forth.  Many teachers' families 
lived on campus; many couples both taught.  Might people on this 
group from boarding schools add their perspectives?
